We made plastic. We depend on it. Now we’re drowning in it.

Plastic material has made modern life possible. But more than 40 per cent of it is used just once, and it’s choking our waterways.

According to National Geography, more than 448 million tons of plastic are produced every year. That poses many environmental problems because it doesn't break, like its counterparts bamboo straws and toothbrushes.

So, is a bamboo handle toothbrush a better choice for you and our planet?

Bamboo toothbrush is similar in function to a plastic toothbrush, but the critical difference is material used to make the handle.

What is Bamboo?

Bamboo included in some of the fastest-growing plants in the world, due to the rhizome dependent system.

Bamboo is of economic and cultural significance in South Asia and south-east Asia.

People use it in combination with various building materials, as raw products and food source. They are also making bamboo straws, bamboo bottle and as kitchen appliances nowadays.

Geographical Distribution:

Bamboo grows in the warm and moist tropical climate mostly ranging from Northern Australia and west to India and the Himalayas.

Cultivation:

Bamboo can grow in, almost, any part of the world as it doesn't necessarily need wet soil or much water to grow.

The maximum growth rate of bamboo is an inch(~2.5cm) per day depending upon the varieties. And that is quite a fast-growing plant.

Larger bamboo plants grow faster as they have more broad rhizome system.

Roots are planted in around 12 inches with proper soil drainage.

Bamboo doesn't grow in stagnant water.

Appropriate exposure to sunlight increases growth and energy synthesis (Photosynthesis). Additionally, biofertilizers can be used to overcome soil deficiency.

Bamboos are cut with a chop saw or circular saw in the adequate sizes.
