What is cork?
Cork is obtained from the bark of the Oak Tree which grows in the Mediterranean area.
Harvesting of cork:
Trees are not cut down for harvest cork. Instead, the bark is harvested by hand every nine years.
Oak trees can survive up to 300 years!
